Passion and Commitment: Why Enjoying Your Work Matters

Headline reading 'Passion adds a layer of commitment. Find enjoyment in your work.' with the labels Commitment, Enjoyment, Silver lining and Find new passions

Passion is an important element which adds an extra layer of commitment.

When passion drives commitment

You will often be surprised to see volunteers doing more work than those who are paid. But is it truly surprising when passion drives them? Passion at work is what separates doing the minimum from putting your best out there.

Without your heart in it

Without your heart in things, you get lazy, procrastinate, try to find more interesting things to do, or don’t put your best work out there.

Work or sleep: where your time goes

Whether it is always feasible to follow your dreams is another debate. However, finding new passions will enable you to enjoy your work. It is quite simple: we spend most of our day either working or sleeping, and I assume everyone enjoys sleeping. That leaves your free time and your work. If you are passionate, your work will feel like enjoyment, not like having to meet a deadline.

Look for the silver lining

We can all try to find new passions or enjoyments in our work.

Always look for the silver lining. Focusing on the losses will just make an already short life go by quicker without enjoyment.
