How a Fully Integrated System Solved Five Business Pain Points

Headline reading 'An integrated system can be game changing. First, you need the vision.' with the labels Real-time accounts, Security, Scaling and Vision first

My first client was the best example for me of how much value a completely integrated system adds.

Before: offline systems and pen and paper

The client had several stores. Previously, an offline system meant some branches had systems while the others used pen and paper. Five pain points stood out.

Pain point 1: end-of-day reports

The manager had to compile everything to get an end-of-day report at company level: sit down, write on paper, do the totals and present the accounts the next day. With an integrated system, the accounts are there in real time and available anywhere.

Pain point 2: security

A worker once figured out a password and changed prices. With an integrated system, systems and access are kept separate.

Pain point 3: not knowing what you have

Because the manager compiled the report at the end of the day and the owners did the accounts the next day, they never truly had up-to-date accounts. Stock is now up to date in real time.

Pain point 4: tracking

Their top-selling items were the ones they tracked religiously, while the small items were handled separately. Now tracking is available for any product.

Pain point 5: scaling

Scaling was difficult. With 20 to 30 products, managing was already hard. They have since grown to 100 to 150 products.

An integrated system can be game changing. But first, you need the vision for it.

That is where many small and medium businesses lose out.
